Eligibility Requirements for Indiana Game Warden

Age: Must be 21 years of age to enter Indiana Fish and Game Warden Training.

Citizenship: Evidence of U.S. Citizenship or naturalization records are needed, as is evidence of Indiana residency.

Permit: A legal Indiana-issued driver’s license is required.

Military Service: If formerly a member of the military, prospective Indiana Fish and Wildlife Officers need to have left “Under Honorable Conditions”.

Work Qualifications: Applicants should be eligible to work and accept employment in the United States.

Legal and foundation History: Prospective Indiana Game Wardens will need to complete a finger print and background check to check for the following:

  • Traded prohibited materials, including production, transportation, purchase, or sale
  • Been put on probation
  • Received a traffic infraction where there was refusal to submit to your breath/blood/urine test

Academic Certificate: Please be aware that trade school degrees aren’t taken.
